The Great Ramen Noodle Recipe Book

Ramen noodles are a type of Asian noodle product made with noodles that have been cooked and then dried and deep fried. To prepare ramen, consumers boil the dried noodles in a soup broth. Ramen noodles typically only take a few minutes to prepare, so they are often consumed as a quick meal. In Japan, ramen shops offer a variety of soup options including those with meat, vegetables and different seasonings added to the basic noodle dish. Ramen noodles are typically made with wheat flour, so they contain gluten. The seasonings used to flavor ramen are also sometimes a source of gluten.

Ramen Beef Pie
Now that work is over, you can finally go home and enjoy a nice, giant helping of ramen beef pie. It’s like Shepard’s Pie or Pâté Chinois, a dish they serve in Canada, only ramen style.

Ingredients
1. 2 packages of ramen noodles
2. 1 lb of ground beef
3. 1 can of sweet corn
4. 1/2 c of onion
5. vegetable oil

Directions
Cook the ramen noodles in a pot for 3 min. Chop the onions, and in a separate pan, heat the onions and brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Then dump it all into a casserole dish, layer the sweet corn on top of that, top it with ramen noodles, and bake in the oven for 10-15 min. You won’t be disappointed.

Comment:
Growing up my mom used to make eggs with my ramen and chinese veggies, namely Choi Sum. This recipe can be easily altered for any vegetable. I'm a navy wife so my husband isn't home all that often and the last thing i want to do when he isn't home is cook, so this was the perfect solution! It can be made all in a single decent sized pot.

Jello Ramen

Category: Dessert
Our rating:
Difficulty: Easy
Ready in: 5 hours

It sure looks great! How come we never tried this before? Well, yesterday, we found out why..

You will need:
- 1 package of ramen noodles (crushed)
- 1 package of jell-o (85g)
- 1/3 cup of vegetable oil
- 1 cup of cold water
- 1 cup of hot water
- a cooking pan

How to cook:
The noodles:
1. While the noodles are still in the package, break them in small pieces.
2. Put the vegetable oil in the cooking pan.
3. Turn on the stove and wait for the oil to heat up.
4. Put your noodles in the cooking pan.
5. Since ramen are dehydrated, you have to be careful not to burn them. Always gently shake the cooking pan.
6. Your noodles are ready once they have a nice brownish color.
7. Turn off the stove and put your noodles in a bowl.
The recipe:
8. Put your jell-o powder in another bowl.
9. Heat up 1 cup of water (on the stove or in the microwave)
10. Add the hot water to the jell-o powder.
11. Stir until the powder is completely dissolved.
12. Add 1 cup of cold water.
13. Add your ramen noodles.
14. Put in the fridge and wait for the jell-o to set.
15. Enjoy!

Conclusion:
It looks great and sure taste good. In fact, we were proud of the result, mixing two giants (jell-o and ramen) together and getting such a nice result. The only problem was the texture, the fried noodles became a bit too soft after spending 3-4 hours in the jello. So even if it doesn't look as cool, the best would probably be to add the ramen once the jello is ready, unless you want to make history too :)

Sweet & Sour Chicken Lo Mein/Ramen
July 6th, 2008
This gem has been in my email for over 2 years now, and it has aged nicely I think. I really like to cook chicken breasts and mix them with my ramen. I also add garlic when I make something like this. Also, this one requires an extra flavor packet, so if you have one laying around this is a good use for it.
Submitted By: “Slightly Off”
Submitted From: USA
Ingredients
  • 1 package Ramen (oriental or teriyaki)
  • 1 extra ramen flavor packet (oriental or teriyaki)
  • 1 boneless skinless chicken breast, cut up into bite sized pieces
  • 1 small onion cut up into chunks
  • 1/2 cup Sweet and Sour sauce
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
Take the cut-up chicken and onions and cook in large pan until all the pink is gone in the chicken. Add the soy sauce and one flavor packet to the chicken and let cook about 4 more minutes. While the chicken finishes, take a small pot add the Ramen and cook as usual. Add the Sweet and Sour sauce and onions to the chicken while the noodles boil. Once the noodles are finished drain the water and add the other flavor packet. Put noodles on plate and then cover with sweet and sour sauce chicken and onion mix.

Teriyaki Tuna Ramen
July 4th, 2008
I love to eat tuna and this sounds like one I could make while camping!  Response: Don’t drain the tuna, you want the teriyaki flavor!
Submitted By: Jilly
Submitted From: E. Tennessee, USA
Ingredients
  • 1 packet ramen, any flavor
  • 1 Chicken of the Sea tuna cup, teriyaki flavor
  • 1 carrot, thinly sliced
  • 1/4-1/2 tsp freshly chopped ginger
  • 1/4 tsp honey
  • 1 green onion, thinly sliced
  • soy sauce or Teriyaki sauce (optional)
Cook noodles, reserving or discarding flavor packet. Meanwhile, steam carrots with ginger and honey in water just to cover until crisp-tender. Drain the noodles and place in shallow bowl. Add contents of tuna cup, breaking up chunks. Drain and add the cooked carrots. Sprinkle the bowl with sliced green onion and toss all together. Season with Teriyaki or soy sauce as desired. Note: I initially made this with oriental flavor ramen and added the flavor packer to the drained noodles, but found it too salty.

Pork Sauerkraut and Ramen
June 22nd, 2008
I don’t like sauerkraut, but I know some folks do… Also, I don’t know what boneless rolled pork is, maybe a pork loin?
Submitted By: Kip
Submitted From: Pittsburgh, PA
Ingredients
  • 1 small Boneless rolled pork
  • 1 large can of sauerkraut
  • 3-4 packets of Ramen (no flavor packets needed)
  • 3/4 stick of butter
  • 1 tblspoon of black pepper
Open the can of sauerkraut, but do not drain. Pour a little bit of the juices into a slow cooker, and then add the pork. Cover the pork with the sauerkraut and cook for about 8 hours. When the pork is done, pull it and cut it apart, cutting off all the fat. While your finishing up the pork, cook your ramen as normal, draining the noodles . Once the pork is ready, drain the pork/kraut mix, and add the pork and kraut to the noodles. Mix in the butter and stir until evenly mixed, then add the pepper, stir a bit and eat!

Gyro Ramen Salad
June 15th, 2008

Submitted By: Kip
Submitted From: Pittsburgh, PA
Ingredients
  • 1 package of ramen cooked and drained (flavor packet will not be used)
  • 1/2 cup of Gyro Sauce
  • 1/4 lb of gyro meat
  • 1 cup of shredded iceburg lettuce
  • 1/2 cup of Diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup of Chopped Red onion (I Hate onions but you might like them)
Cook ramen as usual and drain, do not add flavor packet. Mix ramen and the veggies in a bowl, and top with gyro meat and sauce. Makes one serving if you eat like I do. Optionally you can sprinkle with Cheddar cheese, it is amazing, but not Gyro-ish once you add the cheddar.
PS: This sounds good, if you can trust anyone who doesn’t like onions.

August 8th, 2008
You know what improves everything? That’s right, bacon. If you add bacon to a dish, it becomes “fancy”, remember that aspiring cooks, bacon = tasty = fancy.

Ingredients
Ingredients are suited to serve one person and are also listed in the order you need to cook them in
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • one clove of garlic
  • 1 - 2 slices of bacon (depending on preference)
  • chicken slices (approx the size of your palm)
  • soy sauce
  • mixed vegetables
  • 1 packet of whichever noodles you prefer, i use fresh noodles for simplicity (no need to boil them)
If you have noodles that need boiling, I would advise putting them on first. Next, slice the onion and shred the garlic or cut it up (finely). Cut up the bacon into small pieces and add all of the above into a wok (which already has a small amount of olive oil in it) on a low heat. Get the chicken and cut it up, and add it to the wok. Cook until the chicken is completely cooked (a good sign of this is that its completely changed color all over), then add the soy sauce. Allow to cook for a minute extra and then add the mixed vegetables and stir. Then add the cooked noodles, serve and enjoy.

Easy Gourmet Ramen
May 7th, 2007
Down to 40 recipes in my inbox. I’m actually tired of non-stop recipes, but the Ramen news has been a bit boring recently. Personally, I’m a bit suspicious about mixing garlic, lemon pepper, and milk, but hey, maybe it’s good.

Submitted By: Lynn
Submitted From: Monroe, WA, USA
Ingredients
  • 1 package ramen
  • garlic powder
  • lemon pepper seasoning
  • spaghetti seasoning
  • black pepper (optional)
  • milk
Prepare ramen in the normal way. When noodles are fully cooked, drain most of the water, leaving 2-3 tablespoons in with the noodles. Add the seasoning, 1-2 teaspoons each of garlic powder, spaghetti seasoning, and lemon pepper seasoning. If desired, add the black pepper. Then add 2 tablespoons milk and mix well. It is even tastier if you let it sit for a few minutes and let the liquid be absorbed into the noodles!
The Spread — Ramen

I know some people in Concord, I hope this isn’t theirs!

All this ingredients can ordered by inmates in the jails in Contra Costa County. When finished inmates call the stuff \”SPREAD\”
Ingredients
  • Packs Ramen Noodles (spicy chicken is the best)
  • 1 package of cheetos or generic equivalent
  • 1 package of spicy cheetos or generic equivalent
  • 1 Meat Log or 4 of the smaller meat sticks
  • Mayonnaise and tortillas
In jail there are no pots and pans, just a hot water machine, a microwave, small bowls, and garbage bags!
Step 1: The noodles: Smash the packages of noodles into small noodle bits. Take a large garbage bag (a new one) and put the smashed noodle bits inside of it. Fill a pitcher with hot water and put it in the microwave to get it boiling. Pour the boiling water into the bag and tie the bag closed. Let the noodles cook for 10 minutes.
Step 2: The Meat: Tear or cut the meat into small pieces, place all the meat into a bowl, add about a half inch of water and dump all the soup flavoring packets into the bowl. Cook the meat for 3-4 minutes in the microwave.
Step 3: The chips: Smash the bags of chips into dust. You can adjust the ratio of cheesy chips to spicy chips to whatever you like.
Step 4: The Mix: Dump the meat and any juice that is in the bowl into the garbage bag of noodles, Dump the chip dust in as well. Tie the bag back up and mix.
Step 5: Plating” This dish feeds 5 people, it should fill everyones bowl to the top. Use a county issued cup to dish out the spread. Top with a few squirts of mayo and give each person a tortilla.
This stuff makes a good burrito filling. Jail sucks. There are a lot of variations to this recipe of course but this is SPREAD in it’s most simple form. Noodles, chips, meat, mayo.

Buttermilk Ramen
July 27th, 2008
I hesitated before posting this recipe, okay, I hesitated 16 months before posting this. The main reason is that “buttermilk” to me means pancakes or maybe biscuits. I’ve never had buttermilk unless it was mixed in with a bunch of other stuff and then cooked for awhile so I don’t know what kind of flavor this would give. Anyway, if buttermilk is your thing, give this a try.
Submitted By: Melanie Teegarden
Submitted From: Tennessee, USA
Ingredients
  • 1 package beef or chicken ramen
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1 Tbsp nutritional or brewers yeast (find at the health food store)
  • 1/4 c. buttermilk
Heat your ramen cooking water to boiling, add ramen noodles and cook just until they start to be separable with a spoon. Remove from heat and drain the cooking water. Lower the burner to medium, and return noodles to burner. Drop in the butter and allow to melt; toss noodles to coat, stirring or tossing continuously to avoid the noodles scorching. Next, add half of the flavor packet, the nutritional yeast (which has a roasted parmesan cheese sort of flavor) and the buttermilk. Heat through while stirring and serve. This is really very good. The buttermilk and yeast form a creamy, richly cheesy flavor.

Cao Boi’s Hiking Ramen
December 9th, 2007
Personally, I think the carbs in this one might kill you, unless you are hiking 20 miles a day over hills with a full pack like the submitter was doing. This one definitely goes in the “I’m not gonna eat it” category.
Submitted By: Cao Boi
Submitted From: Wherever I lay my head is home
Ingredients
  • one packet of any flavor Ramen noodles
  • 1/2 to 1 cup of instant mash potato powder (use the flavored kind for variety)
Cook the Ramen as usual but do not drain. After noodles are soft, add flavor packet and add mash potato powder. Stir and let sit a bit (it holds heat and will burn your mouth if you don’t wait) to thicken and cool. Add more or less instant mash potato powder for desired thickness and consistency. I like to use savory herbs or cheesy garlic instant mash potato. Great hiking food created on the Appalachian Trail!

Fat Kid’s Ramen

Submitted By: Luis Rodriguez
Submitted From: El Paso,TX
Ingredients
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 2 packs ramen (Cup Ramen Preferred: use chicken, beef, or pork)
  • 2 Hot Dogs
  • 2 cans water (Tomato Sauce)
  • Garlic Salt (optional)
  • Lemon Pepper (optional)
In a medium sauce pan put the tomato sauce and water. This amount of water will give you a thick spaghetti consistency. Adding more will give a soupy consistency. Let it come to slight boil. Cut hot dogs (raw) into small chunks and throw into pot. Now let come to a full boil and cook for 5 minutes. Add the ramen, if using cup just rip cup and toss in, if using brick, don’t forget the flavor pack. (The reason I like cup is for the dried vegetables.) While cooking, season with garlic salt and lemon pepper, or just use salt and pepper as desired. Cook until the noodles are cooked like you like em and serve. (By the way this makes quite a bit or food, if just feeding one person just half all the ingredients.)

Trucker’s Ramen Chili Meal
October 11th, 2007
First trucker recipe ever. This recipe comes from Lance and I think he’s a truck driver. It’s odd however that his email address has the word “Day trader” in it. I hope he’s not stock picking on the interstate. This recipe may also win a prize for the most processed food ingredients.
Submitted By: Lance
Submitted From: Sleeper of my truck.
Ingredients
  • 1 can of store brand chili
  • 2 packs of ramen — (I like Hot and spicy or beef)
  • 4 pieces of bread
  • some butter
  • 4 slices of processed cheese
  • Accent food seasoning. (THIS IS A MUST)
  • Chopped onion
Make the ramen like normal and drain off water. Add flavor packet to the noodles and begin heating the chili. Make two regular grilled cheese sandwiches. Grab two bowls, put one grilled cheese in the bottom of each bowl. Dish noodles into each bowl on top of grilled cheese and top with chili. Sprinkle with ACCENT food flavor enhancer and sprinkle the chopped onion on top. Eat one bowl now and put the other in the fridge. When you get hungry again later, microwave the second bowl for about a minute and eat it. IT TASTES MUCH BETTER once it has been cooled then reheated.

Squashed Ramen
September 22nd, 2007
Here’s a recipe that you could call “healthy”, hey at least it has some vegetables in it. Also I will note that neither the submitter, nor I, could spell zucchini without the help of a spell checker. I also figure that olive oil would work well in place of butter in this.

CHINESE CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP
1 pkg. Ramen Noodles (chicken, oriental or pork flavor)
2 cans chicken broth
1/2 cup frozen English peas
1/2 can sliced water chestnuts
1 egg, beaten with fork
1 chicken breast or 1/2 cup leftover chicken, turkey or pork
1/2 cup chopped bok choy or Napa cabbage or celery
2 Tbsp. carrots, sliced diagonally in small pieces
1 tsp. sesame oil (optional, gives distinctive taste)
2 to 3 Tbsp. diced green onions for garnish
Bring 2 cups of water to boil; add chicken broth. Add the packet of seasoning. While broth is boiling, add 1 chicken breast (cut in small pieces), vegetables and the egg. Stir the egg in with a fork and mix it fast so it will not clump. Just before serving, add the noodles and the peas, then the sesame oil and green onions. Don't let soup sit around cause vegetables need to be a bit crunchy, not cooked soft. If using leftover meat in your soup, just add at the end because it only needs to be heated. Add another can of chicken broth if soup is too thick or if you prefer more broth.
You may vary the soup with different Chinese type vegetables available. Add some garlic and a dash of hot Chinese mustard. If using strong vegetables such as broccoli, chop them small and don't overcook to avoid a strong flavor.

POLISH SAUSAGE RAMEN
1 pkg. Hilshire Farms Polish Sausage
4 pkg. Pork Ramen Noodles
1 pkg. frozen peas and carrots
2 cans beef broth
Slice the sausage into bite-sized pieces and fry in a skillet. Cook the noodles for five minutes in the beef broth. Do NOT drain. Add the frozen peas and carrots, and the sausage, and mix well. Cook another five minutes. Serve in bowls.

STIR-FRIED PORK RAMEN
1 pound boneless pork loin, cut into thin strips

Marinade - Mix together:
  2 Tbsp. soy sauce
1-1/2 Tbsp. minced gingerroot
1 Tbsp. minced garlic
4-1/2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
2 cups sliced onions
1 tsp. cayenne pepper
2 cups shredded cabbage
1 cup grated carrots
1-1/2 Tbsp. rice wine vinegar

Sauce - Mix together:
1/4 cup soy sauce
3 Tbsp. rice wine vinegar
1-1/2 Tbsp. sugar
1-1/2 Tbsp. worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. toasted sesame seeds
5 pkg. Ramen Oriental with flavor packets
In a bowl, mix the pork with the marinade, toss lightly, and let marinate for 30 minutes.  Heat a wok or a skillet, add 3 Tbsp. oil, and heat until near smoking. Add the pork, stir-fry until done, remove, and drain. Wipe out the pan and reheat.  Add the remaining oil and heat over high heat until hot. Add the onions and cayenne pepper, and stir-fry for about 1 minute. Add the cabbage. Toss lightly for 1 minute and add the carrots and rice wine vinegar. Cook for another minute and add the sauce. Heat until boiling.  Add the cooked pork and the noodles, and toss lightly to blend. Transfer to a platter and serve immediately. Serves 6 to 8.

Cook 4 pkg. Ramen noodles, broken up as much as possible, in water. Drain. Add 1 cup sugar, 1 cup heavy cream, 1 tsp. cinnamon, and 1 Tbsp. vanilla. Cook over medium heat until thickened, stirring constantly. You can add 1/2 cup raisins or chopped dates if you like them.

Chicken Or Tofu Salad
This makes a lot, but it disappeared with just the 4 of us! Delish! I use my own spices and leave out the flavoring packet as it contains much too much salt!
Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup almonds, slivered
  • 3 Tbsp. sesame seeds (grind up 1 1/2 Tbsp. if possible, it brings out more flavor)
  • 1 package Top Ramen noodles
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce (lite-less salt)
  • 1/3 to 1/2 cup Wine
  • 1/4 tsp. Garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp. Onion powder
  • 2 Tbsp. Splenda
  • 3 Tbsp. White vinegar
  • 1/4 cup oil (I used 1/8 cup sesame and 1/8 cup olive oil)
  • 4 scallions thinly sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper (Optional I didn't use it)
  • Cilantro, chopped (Optional I used dried cilantro 1/4 tsp.)
  • 1/2 head cabbage (I used about 3 lbs. of Chinese cabbage chopped fine)
  • 2 cup chicken breast, cooked and diced small (I used 2 cups tofu)
Directions
Toast almonds with sesame seeds and cool. Add cabbage. Break noodles into small pieces, add to almonds, sesame seeds and cabbage and set aside. Blend together with a wisk: soy sauce, wine, garlic powder, onion powder, splenda, vinegar, oil, scallions, pepper, cilantro. Add chicken to "wet" mixture. Let marinate if you have a mind to (it does enhance the flavor, especially of the Tofu) Pour over cabbage. I let it sit a few hours (refrigerated) to blend the flavors! It was delicious.

Patti's Fumi Salad (Japanese Cole Slaw)
My family loves this delicious Japanese coleslaw. I got the recipe off the Interenet. This is a great Pot Luck dish. Delicious, inexpensive, feeds an army, easy to make. People always hunt me down for this recipe.
Ingredients
  • One head green cabbage
  • One head purple cabbage (OR 2 bags Dole "Classic Coleslaw" in place of cabbage heads)
  • Garlic Salt
  • Toasted almond slivers
  • Toasted sesame seeds (or sunflower seeds)
  • 6 Scallions (or green onions)
  • 1/2 cup Seasoned Rice Wine Vinegar (I use a little more, about 3/4 cup)
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 3 package Top Ramen Noodles not cooked, broken up (throw away seasoning packet)
Directions
Slice cabbage thinly, place in large bowl, toss with garlic salt. Add toasted nuts and seeds, scallions and broken up ramen noodles.combine the oil and vinegar, mix together with the salad, chill and serve. Right before serving, I sprinkle the top of the salad with some more broken-up ramen noodles.
The recipe does not have to be chilled if you're in a hurry to get somewhere. The salad will compress nearly in half after the oil and vinegar has been added. This is a large recipe, alter the oil and vinegar to make smaller portions.
Ramen is a staple at our house! Hope you find plenty of ways to enjoy yours! ;)

Chinese Fried Noodles
I use them to make Chinese fried noodles all the time. Simply presoak the noodles in hot water to cook them. Then heat about 1-2 Tbsp. of oil per package of noodles. Fry 1 clove of garlic, then toss in the noodles and stir fry them. Add about a half pack of the seasoning mix to the noodles, a Tbsp. of soy sauce, and if you like, some oyster sauce. If you overseason and it's too salty, just add some water and keep frying until the water evaporates. Once noodles are fried, I add frozen corn. You can also add other veggies, like bean sprouts, salter turnips (available at oriental stores), or shredded carrots. I the take out the noodles and fry a few eggs and cut them up into small chunks and then add the noodles back into the pan and mix them together. It tastes even better if you add fried onions (also available at oriental stores) over top as garnish.
It's a VERY inexpensive meal and great for parties because it is easy to fry 4-6 packets at a time.

Crockpot Beef And Noodles
I do a beef and noodles recipe with the ramen noodles. First I take a 2 to 3 lb. beef roast and cook it in the crockpot with around a cup of water. I use the low setting and I let it cook overnight. In the morning, I shredd the meat up and I add anywhere from 6 to 10 seasoning packets from the beef ramen noodle packets.(It all depends on how many people are going to be eating this. I take it to potlucks a lot.) I also add around another 1/2 cup of water. I let this all cook together all day. About an hour before I am ready to eat, I cook all the ramen noodles (the 6 to 10 packs from which I took the seasoning packets.) I only add the noodles to the crockpot. I may add another 1/2 cup of water so the noodles don't dry up, but I mix together the noodles and beef and let them cook together for about 30 minutes so the flavor can really mix with the noodles. Everywhere I have taken this, it has been a huge hit.

Chicken and Noodles
I cook them as the package instructions. Make 2 packages. Then add a cup of chopped chicken and a cup frozen vegs. Since the seasonings packets have so much salt I only use one packet for every two packs of Ramen Noodles used. Add pepper to taste. Add rolls or garlic bread and a fresh salad and you have a compleate meal.

Chicken Vegetable Soup
Use 2 packages of Ramen Noodles, add 1 can VegAll mixed vegetables and 1 can white meat canned chicken. Boil noodles with water per instructions for 3 minutes, add seasoning packets, Vegall and canned chicken. Season to taste with soy sauce (I use low-sodium), and simmer for 15-30 minutes.
More like a stew than a soup. You can also use canned tuna.

Corn Chowder
There is an easy to make corn chowder that uses the noodles. Take one package noodles and mix it with one package of a dry chicken soup mix (I used a Lipton cream of chicken). Then add about 2 - 3 cups milk/water mixture to it and throw it in the microwave for about 8 minutes. Be sure to mix the powder from the chicken soup into the water/milk mix so there are no lumps. Once the noodles are done, add one can of creamed corn. Mix and serve. My DH loved it. I suppose you could also add fried bacon pieces or sauted onions to it if you wanted to.

Ramen Casserole
I make a hot dish with them. Put the water and season pack in a casserole dish and then I chop chicken or pork and put on top and bake until done about 1 hour at 350 degrees F. I have also left the chicken breasts or loin chops whole and put them on top of the noodles and baked them the same amout of time. One of our family favorite meals with a salad.

Snack On Noodles
When I'm really hungry, I eat them 'raw' as a snack- just break up the block by pounding on it with the heel of my hand while in the package. It's kinda bland, but I like it!)

Hot Dog Ramen Soup
My 13 year old was making dinner for her sisters one night and I was not allowed into the kitchen. She was supposed to be making hot dogs and ramen soup, lol. Well she threw together this dish and now it is a family favorite, very quick and all of us like it.
  • 1 package ramen for each person
  • 1/2 the amount of recommended water
  • 1 hot dog for each person (cut into chunks)
Bring all to a boil, turn off and add:
  • seasoning packet
  • 2 raw eggs (whisk in seperate bowl)
  • 1/2 - 1 cup of cheese (we have used sliced and works great too)
Mix and let finish cooking.
Sounds and looks gross but it really is the best tasting soup I think I have ever had, and I am not a hot dog eater.

Instant Beggar’s Noodles
This is one of the tastiest ways of dressing up your instant ramen and was a staple for me during university. I still like to make it from time to time for reasons of nostalgia or having blown all my money on booze that month.
  1. Begin cooking your instant ramen as per the packet instructions.
  2. Whilst still a little hard ("al dente", if there is such a thing for instant ramen) turn off the heat and strain the soup away into a bowl to keep aside. Drain the noodles thoroughly.
  3. Put the dry noodles in a bowl and mix in sesame oil, kecap manis and chilli sauce to taste.
  4. Garnish with anything - flaked seasoned chicken, fried onions, chopped green onions or crushed cashew nuts work well. Serve with the soup on the side.

Posh Oddles Noodles
was left alone one day and had nothing to eat, so I made up this dish with egg noodles, but I wrote the recipe using instant noodles since I though it would be more tasty and easier.
  1. Cook instant noodles.
  2. Crack egg in bowl, pour soup and noodles over it.
  3. Top it all off with the raw onion rings.
I like raw onions, but if you can't stand it. You can cook it, but you just won't get that unique taste.

Ramen Pancakes
I love ramen, but the convention way of cooking it was getting boring. I love chow mein but it's just way too difficult to make so I combined what I liked about chow mein and the simplicity of ramen. I love crunchy foods.
  1. Fill a medium-sized (large enough to fit the ramen block with 1-2 inches of space around it) non-stick frying pan with water, half-way.
  2. Heat the pan with the water to a boil. Place ramen block and spinkle the soup base (if you like it) too.
  3. Let the ramen soften, flip it if it's still solid so that it is evenly moistened. Use chopsticks to loosen it up. Sort of like untangling your hair.
  4. Let the ramen soften some more, and if the water evapourates, great! If there is still water in the pan after 3 minutes of cooking, drain the water. Slide the noodles off the pan and into a clean plate.
  5. Drizzle some oil (I like sesame) in the pan and let it heat up at Maximum heat.
  6. Once the pan is hot, slide back the noodles into the pan. Evenly distribute the noodles over the pan. Drizzle 2-3 tablespoons of sauce.
  7. Let it fry. Occassionally lift the ramen to check the underside. If it's brown, use a spatula to flip it and let the other side cook.
  8. Let the other side fry. Again, lift and check.
  9. If it's brown, slide it off the pan and into your plate. Yay.

Beef is easier to slice thinly if it is partially frozen. Freeze the beef for 30 minutes before slicing.
INGREDIENTS:

* 2 Tbsp. oil
* 1 lb. beef top sirloin, thinly sliced
* 2 (3 oz.) pkgs. Oriental flavor instant ramen noodles

* 2 cloves garlic, minced
* 4 cups frozen broccoli and carrots, thawed and drained
* 1 red bell pepper, sliced
* 2 cups water
* 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
* 2 cups snow pea pods

PREPARATION:
Discard one seasoning packet from the ramen noodles and break the noodles into pieces. Heat oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add thinly sliced beef and cook and stir for 3 minutes. Remove the meat and toss with 1/2 of one seasoning packet from the noodles. Set aside.
Add the onion, garlic, and the broccoli and carrots and saute until almost cooked, about 7 minutes, stirring frequently. Stir in the red bell pepper. Add water, ground ginger, noodles, rest of seasoning packet, and snow pea pods and stir. Bring to a boil.
Reduce the heat and simmer for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the noodles and vegetables are tender, stirring occasionally. Add the beef and stir to combine. Cook for 1 minute longer and serve. 4-6 servings.

With eggs, cheese, and some ramen soup mix, dinner is ready in just minutes.

Add the egg/noodle mixture and cook over medium-low heat until firm, 5 to 7 minutes, drawing the cooked mixture to the center to allow uncooked portion to flow onto bottom of pan. Broccoli Slaw
my mom makes broccoli slaw for cookouts during the summer & it's always a big hit - you could probably cut down on the nuts & sugar and add some different veggies to make it a little healthier:

1 pkg broccoli slaw
2 pkgs Ramen Noodles (chicken flavor) crush noodles
1 bunch scallions chopped
1 cup slivered almonds
1 cup sunflowers seeds

dressing:
1/2 cup oil
1/3 cup vinegar (cider or white)
1/2 cup sugar
2 packets of flavor mix from Ramen noodles

Mix dressing and set aside
combine first 5 ingredients - pour dresing over and mix
let marinate over night
When I first had this cabbage salad in Saipan, I thought it was an island favorite and I asked around for the recipe. Imagine my surprise when I came back to the U.S. years later and learned that the salad was almost ubiquitous. It’s still a favorite around our house, and it makes a great salad for summer cookouts since there is no dairy in the dressing.
